I was most impressed with Cole Walter today in the finals. And it had nothing to do with him wrestling. It was his ability to drag a ticket attendant up the steps!
Didn't even slow him down

Anybody who can stick a backflip after six tough minutes of wrestling gets my vote.

Devin Brown has the backflip down too.
Mitch I'll spot ya if you want to try, then you spot me. But you have to go first.
Fun to watch Spencer Lee do autographs and take pictures with the young wrestlers as soon as he gets off the mat

I'll never understand the crowd attendants at Hershey as to how they try to inhibit a victorious wrestler from going up into the stands and meeting with his parents and/or grandparents or friends.

A backflip in celebration of a win is unsportsmanlike??

I agree with the PCN commentators, if you stick a backflip after wrestling (and winning) in the finals you should earn a team point, not lose one.
Congratulations to Cole! He got what he deserves. Over the years we have watched him take tough losses and use them to fuel his fire! Great work and good luck at Lehigh!

PIAA looked pretty bad when this happened. For one I think they went to far with this and I would press charges against them. The guy tried to bring him down while going up the stairs something bad could of happened. If they don't want the kids to enter the stands then have the enforcers down by floor of the arena and not sitting up in the bleachers. If I was the parent in that situation and didn't know who the guy was trying to tackle my son I'm afraid the guy would of been hurting...

I have been attending the "States" since back in the late seventies, and I have no recollection of ever seeing such an incident in all those years. I would say that clarification of the "do's" and don'ts" needs to be extended to the participating wrestlers for future tournaments. I have seen many a championship winner run up into the stands to hug and celebrate with family and friends without any attendant attempting to interfere.

The front page and back pages of the March 12 edition of the Mifflinburg Free Press has a two page photo spread of Cole Walter's championship day at Hershey on March 7. It's a "keeper" for all Mifflinburg wrestling fans.

Cole Walter ended up being ranked 6th in the country at 160 by the Amateur wrestling news. Super!
