There is also nothing more intense and emotional in the sport then the "loser goes home" match. 3rd place for D2 and 5th place for d4. Sometimes this match is 2 seniors of good quality, both knowing this could be the last match they ever wrestle. Such high stakes! So much on the line!

You do realize that in 18 years only 6 D2 3rd placers getting to states is really bad. You are proving the point of everyone who says D2 should only bring the top 2 placers to regionals. What are your thoughts on reducing the weight classes? What if there is a good D2 wrestler that was hurt most the season and only has 10 matches under his belt and he is the 4th seed at his district tournament? I strongly oppose eliminating any weights. Less wrestling is not good! They should have never changed the weights from the 103-275 format. I also strongly oppose a 4th place from D2 to regionals..

Im going to type this again. There is real talk that an option for the Region is this:
Qualifier are as follows:
North top 4 South top 4 Central top 4 D2 top 4
Which will proceed to a 16 man 2 day tournament the week of District. But will be our new regional tournament. My understanding is there is 11 team at each Section, and D2 now only has 11 teams. So all get the same treatment.

D2 has 12 teams next year if I understood them correctly.
My issue is if one section is stacked, it could throw off seedings for Districts. Taking top 5 from Districts to Regionals can sort that out. Look at how Many District 5th's make it.
My vote is keep it the same for now, but my next vote is just a big district tournament, then keep regionals the same.

I find it hard to believe they would get rid of a district tournament. Whether as is or 1 big tournament. For the sake of wanting to have “District” Champs.

I have heard that Nanticoke, Berwick, Honesdale and Valley View all coming back down. Tunkhannock going back up. This is just what I have heard, I don't know this for sure
