I don't think I'd walk that far out on that limb just yet. Where the kids match up and their depth (if any) will determine most of that. Let's just say that they SHOULD improve upon the successes of last year if they all come back.

I've heard there's a chance Southern might be getting both Nick Becker and Trent Donlan back out for the team this year. Donlan was a 20-match winner as a freshman at heavyweight, and Becker was 14-0 as a freshman at 195 a few years ago before getting hurt. Granted, they've both been away from wrestling for a bit, but those are two pretty solid pieces to add to that lineup. Are they going to win state titles? Probably not, but having strong, above average kids in those upper weight spots would be huge for Southern in a matchup with Wyalusing.

Donlan was HUGE in JH and I don't mean around the waist big, I mean "he showed the doctor his driver's license when he came out of the womb" big! If everything comes together that has been talked about on here, Southern will make a very deep run into the state team tourney!

Everyone is counting on Otis, Otis and Chilson. I don't see any of them making 195. So it can only be two of the three. That takes one of their guns out of service.

A lot of people are also looking over the fact that a few of southern studs are going to lose.

Kent Lane, Todd Lane, Billy Barnes, and Blake Marks are not going to lose, and will probably all be Regional champs at 126, 138, 145, 160

I don't argue with that at all but figure Wyalusing getting big wins at 220 HWT 120 or113 and depending on where the freshman are at maybe one or two of them. It evens out the bonus points. I think the match will come down to who has the best average or better kids. Not studs.
