...so I'm going to. If you're annoyed by the whole north-south thing, then don't read any further.
I hope we've heard the last of the "the North doesn't produce great individual wrestlers" statements.
The North crowned 4 NE Regional champs.
Brian Courtney looks super. Collin Edsell has given up a total of 4 points this post-season, while his cousin, Dylan Otis, has yet to give up any. Nick Stephani has been outstanding in defeating a very tough opponent, twice.
All four have good chances to stand very high up on the medals podium next week.
(Oh...and lest we forget...Billy Barnes spent 3 years at Williamson before his transfer to Southern Columbia.)

Why do you start a thread out "don't wanna rehash this?" Sounds like you REALLY do want to rehash this. And if Billy Barnes does win a state title will Williamson hang a banner in his honor?

All right, then I do want to rehash it, because every year, the discussion always starts with someone from the southern part of the district discounting and disrespecting the north. Always. And when presented with facts, there are some who are so out of touch with reality that they continue to refuse to acknowledge the quality of wrestling in the north. So, I'll keep pointing out the facts, every time, no matter how many people it ticks off, or how annoyed some may get. And, no, if Barnes wins a state title, Williamson will not, and should not, hang a banner in his honor. I'm just reminding everyone that he was already a very good wrestler before moving to the southern part of the district.

How many champs did the south have? North: 4 South: 4 Central: 3 District II: 3 So...is your next argument going to be that the "southern part of the district" includes the Central and South sections, and that the southern part of the district produced 7 champs to the North section's 4? Well, that's right about where the South and Central sections, combined, should be, considering that that combination includes 21 schools to the North section's 11. (I could use that same argument to bash any ONE other section, if I wanted to. For example: the North and Central produced 7 champs to the South's 4. The northern part of the district is soooo much better than the completely inferior south...)

The North also had more kids at regionals than the south or central. The north had the d4 dual meet champs. D4 tournament champs and the ne region champ come put of the north.

But yet the central produced the most guys going to states... Ok...you want to say the Central is the best of the 3 sections...fine. I have no problem with that. My problem is with those who say that the North is far inferior, that North kids don't work hard during the offseason, that the North is similar to D2, etc., etc., etc., because they really don't know what they're talking about. Time and time again, it's pointed out that this is simply not true, and yet there are those who refuse to acknowledge it.

Other than Cortney all the kids a with a legit chance at a state title are from the south. Otis has beaten Buzzy Maines numerous times in offseason competition, and the only time they ever faced each other in regular season competition (a couple years ago at the state duals, I believe. Could be wrong about that, it's possible they didn't wrestle then.) I believe that Otis is 3-1 versus Robb all-time. Those are the 2 guys ranked ahead of him. Otis has wrestled at Fargo numerous times. A few years back he was a Greco-Roman All-American. Not saying he'll win it, but I think Otis has a legitimate chance. Next?

Ok Ottis has a small chance, Courtney has a good chance
The south has I would say Diltz but there is a stud by the name of Gavin Teasedale who will have something to say about that. Lebaron Lane Barnes Walter Hoffman(182)

I realize that I'm never going to convince the likes of you, reaper, or NTL fan, or whatever you're calling yourself now. I just hope to show everyone how baseless these type of claims are.

Yet none of this would have been said if you didn't start this thread. Sounds like you were looking for a fight.

At this point this topic needs to be dropped period. We should all be supporting our district And region as a whole at states! Words are words until a kid actually goes out and does it or doesn't do it on the mat. Also opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has them and they all stink.
