#3 Nathaniel Brown of Lehigh (graduate of Lewisburg) faced #1 Gabe Dean of Cornell this past weekend. After regulation 3 periods, they were tied 1-1 forcing overtime. Brown ended up losing 3-1 on a controversial take down in the SV. This take down was ruled 'no take down' until the Cornell coach challenged it. On replay, the refs awarded the take down. Judge for yourselves. Brings back memories of Kyle Dake's (also of Cornell then) phantom take down against David Taylor. Here is the link to watch it Brown v Dean video

Not familiar with college scoring on takedowns out of bounds, but I don't see the takedown on that call, Nate was still scrambling, the takedown did not look secure

College rules have changed in recent years there is no reaction time. If you watch the video in slo mo like they showed during the actual match when dean came across and grabbed Brown's ankle for the split second he had it, that is two. The commentators even said that was a good call due to there not being reaction time now in college.

The takedown didnt need to be secure all he had to do was grab the other ankle which he had for a split second. You can debate it all you want when you leave the ref in the match crap like that happens. They will see each other again when it really matters.

Wrestling replays are reviewed in real time not slowmotion

It's there in real time. For a split second. Could have gone either way.

Either way there is no reaction time in college. If he had ahold of the ankle for even a split second its two.

Kudos to Brown for his reaction- I like the way he just handled himself in a very dissapointing situation.
