Nice to see they had 6 JV bouts at the Canton Towanda match last night. Those kids deserve a chance to wrestle as well. Many matches they are instead forgotten. Teams will weigh in 20 wrestlers trying to play head games with the other team and neglect to get the JVs some mat time. With numbers going down an effort should be made to keep the ones who are are already out. Great job getting your wrestlers their due coach Ward and Sexton!

We lost our JV wrestlers when they moved JH matches to the same nights as HS matches (used to be on different nights in the past) and the implementation of districts duals where every coach is looking at their win/loss record to get that better seed.
Decades before the JV matches before the varsity bouts used to be as long as the varsity bout.

Towanda always has a few jv bouts no matter if it's a tourney or just a dual

Coach Sexton likes to give his kids as many matches as possible. Their JH program is great. Always lots of matches when other teams have the kids to compete. Sexton will also rotate jv kids in varsity matches just to give them the mat time and experience. I think this helps the kids progress
