Has anyone heard how exactly Sectionals are going to be run? I have seen the other post season info but not for Sectionals yet.

Haven't officially heard anything.
Ideas have been thrown out there.
Wrestle it Wednesday or Thursday 17th or 18th. Districts on the 20th.
PIAA wants to keep weight classes to 8. Not sure how you decide who qualifies.
3 sections, finalists go to districts, top 2 3rd placers go (seeding points)

why not only qualify 8 (via point, record) and wrestle them week before. And if only taking 2 kids, then wrestle true 2nd? Most weight class's wont have 8 kids anyways.

My only worry is that exception like Garcia as a freshman.
You could still send 12 to Districts and go back to first round losers are done. Quickly at 8 per weight.

OK so I made a couple phone calls. One potential at Sectionals is to do a Wed for weight classes that have more then 8 kids. Which is fine is they decide that. What I am being told is the talk is to still only take 8 kids to districts. Ok, so now you are going to qualify 3-3-2 from the Sections. The section that takes 2 is not going to be determined until after. The 3rd place finishers that have the most seeding points going in are who gets the nod. Ok Ok I am following. My personal question is if you are going to do it this way you must(should) also run ever Section with a True Second.
If you get a guy out on injury who only has 3 matches (low seeding points) he hits a returning state placer, but is better then person the guy who took second, he's out. Why not give him the chance? Chances are that less than 50% of weight classes will need this extra match anyways. I think we owe it to the kids to have the True Second if needed.

I'm not a fan of true 2nd in some cases. Yes if a kid in the finals has a stud and gets pinned in 30 seconds then that isn't an emotional loss. But if the finals is tight, and a kid is coming off an emotional loss then faces a kid that just found new life...tough match.
Just send 9, pig tail loser is done. Or send 12 and first round loser is done, down to 8 after 1 round. What happens if the 4th placer has more points than the other 2 third placers from other sections. I know I'm getting picky now. Just send all 4 to districts.

Why not just waive the five match in one day rule. Then You don’t got to worry about any of this. The number 8 is based off that it is not like 8 is some magic number that you only get COVID if you get 9 or more kids. It’s a crazy year if a kid chooses not to wrestle five matches than so be it he forfeits and other wrestler moves on all there doing is making everything more difficult and none of it is a sure thing not to spread or get exposed to COVID. Look Team states is a major risk for teams you could wrestle district duals and get your entire team quarantined for sectionals. Coaches have to adapt and everyone seems to be making this way hard than it has to be.

And what of the mask rule? Are all of you guys in D4 allowed to wrestle without? Do some schools require? Will those schools have to forfeit to the schools that don't? Here in the Lackawanna League of district 2, 100% mask wearing 100% of the time. Apparently, there are studies that say masks don't inhibit your ability to breathe. I wonder what a kid getting pinned in a head lock would have to say about that. I would really like to hear from some D4 coaches on what their schools policy is. Also, do referees have to wear them?

I believe that all schools are required to wear masks as per previous directive from Department of Health. Makes no sense to wear a mask while competing I would love to hear any kind of scientific evidence that while wearing a mask and increasing your heart rate which in turn increases your breathing does not have negative impact on an athlete. Also how a mask especially a cloth mask is gonna prevent any kind of germs or spit getting on someone. If they are letting them compete just let them compete. Because regardless if everyone wears N95 masks if one of the athletes from any school competing that day tests positive they are all gonna be quarantined anyway.

It’s ludicrous to think that making wrestlers wear a mask makes wrestling safe. If you think that wrestling is not safe.
Line Mountain is not required to wear masks but will if other teams require us too. Not sure how post season will work.

Best case scenario.
Still think we could’ve ran a full postseason with limited to no fans in attendance. Still been under the capacity limits.

So we moved Individual Post-season up a week, and added a week.
While some other Districts start later, and have a week less for their top wrestlers to grind it out.
I'm sorry but 5 straight weekends for 2 top wrestlers to grind it out is too much.
