all i have been hearing lately is how much better the heartland is than the ntl. past results speak volume. i think 8 of 13 years now its been an ntl school winning districts. make two all star teams one from each conference and i say ntl wins that to. anyone want to throw some teams together and predict scores?

I'm from Heartland Conference so I will throw a team together for them. 106 Johnson (Central) 113 Sheesley (Miff) 120 Walter (Miff) 126 Watson (WR) 132 Cotten (Benton) 138 Batkowski (Montoursville) 145 Barnes (Hughesville) 152 Preisch (Milton) 160 Walter (Miff) 170 Hembury (Muncy) 182 Mankey (Benton) 195 Smith (Lewisburg) 220 Solomon (Milton) 285 Mironenko (Miff)
No offense to the NTL but this isn't even close. I give Wyalusing a ton of credit, they brought their A game to Milton and left champs. I wish them all the luck in Hershey, but putting together all star lineups could get ugly for the NTL.

unfortunately, the ntl would not win in this type of dual., however, wyalusing wrestled as the best team yesterday

It is the one time of the year that us fans in the NTL can enjoy a victory over the mighty heartland. I know it is sour grapes for you, but just let us indulge a little.

Anklepick, I'm not sour, I will be the first to admit that I thought Miff would beat Wyalusing, but they won fairly easily and then beat a very good Central team in the finals. I give them all the credit. Also, the NTL always has very talented teams every year, that is evident when you look back over the years. However, to say the NTL would win an all star match against the HAC as ramfan did is crazy and would never happen this year. Again, I'm in no way taking anything away from the NTL and come regionals I will root for d4, whether the kid be from the north, east, south, or west.

Well, I'm with Clarkie on this one. I'm an NTL fan through and through but we would get beat badly in an allstar dual. ramfan you also have to remember that most of the time when heartland folks talk about their dominance it is in all sports. Wrestling is the only relevant sport the NTL can compete in. I think we could all agree on one thing, a district 4 all star team could compete with any district in PA and probably the nation.

Ramfan, Ill even make a back up team, I still think you stuggle with that.
106- Kuba (MF) 113- Nitczski (Sul) or Pearson (MT) 120- Welliver (BE) or Lane (SC) 126- Zimmerman (LM)* I dont even know if its fair to place Retherford here (BE) 132- Lansberry (LM) 138- Strickland (MU) 145- Kritzer (LM) 152- Kasunic (BE) 160- Meske (CC) 170- English (MIL) or Shnyder (Montg) 182- Ebner (MU) or Prezkop (MC) 195- Longenberger (BL) or Rothermel (LM) 220- McCracken (CC) with tape 285- Earnest (HU) or Shiber (CC)
Once again i am not a NTL hater. But Ramfan, you ask too much for this one.

NTL - bask in the sun, Wyalusing brought home the title! A couple jabs and ribs never hurt anyone, but in the end, we are all D4!! We can mess with each other, but don't let outsiders try it. Right?
Congrats Wyalusing and our NTL neighbors!!

Ok first off, lets look at this reallistically. All star meets usually involve seniors only. So taking at Seniors only eligable, here are the lineups I come up with, allowing for some weight class movements to give the NTL the best possible team. Also remember that Line Mtn wrestlers are not Heartland, they are tri valley league.
NTL
113- Lamphere(Towanda) 120- Clint Vermillya(Troy) 126- Maynard(Towanda) 132- Hart(Wyalusing) 138- Green(Northeast Bradford) 145- Champluvier(Wyalusing) 152- Pepper(Canton) or Ripic(Towanda) 160- Pepper or Ripic 170- Frankenfield(Wyalusing) 182- Clark(Wyalusing) 195- Button(North Penn) I know he is a 220 but NTL has no seniors at 195 ranked so I feel he would give the Heartland 195 a good match. 220- Stettler(North Penn) 285- Force(Wyalusing)
HAC
113- Sheesley(Mifflinburg) 120- Heddings(Warrior Run) 126- Watson(Warrior Run) 132- Shovlin(Shamokin) 138- Batkowski(Montoursville) 145- Starr(Central Columbia) 152- Woodruff(Sullivan County) 160- Meske(Central Columbia) 170- English(Milton) 182- Mankey(Benton) 195- Longenberger(Bloomsburg) 220- Urbanavage(Mt Carmel) 285- Earnest(Hughesville)
With these lineups I see a very good and entertaining All Star meet with Hac winning a close one 24-22.

Hey! This all-star stuff got me thinking (dangerous, I know).
I think most schools have a match or two after Team District Duals. But here is an alternative to that. For the D4 fans who watch coaches bump everyone around all year, and for the benefit of our kids needing tough matches to prepare for their individuals, wouldn't it be a great idea to form 4 all-star teams, all weights declared, no bumping, and let them go at it with no title or championship at stake? Just good wrestlers sharpening their skills and the fans getting what they've been deprived of all year. Full matches, no forfeits, just great matchups and great wrestling.
Any opinions? (I know, we probably can't do it, right?)
These matches would take place in lieu of the meaningless matches after District Duals.
Also, I would not limit it to Seniors only, this would be to benefit All of our Varsity wrestlers from D4.

Mrbateman-the ntl has alot better all stars then what u think.. 106-blaskak(towanda) 113-killian or kelley 120-everett(williamson) 126-maynard(towanda) 132-Hart(wyalusing) 138-Kuntz(wyalusing) 145-Champluvier(wyalusing) 152-Ripic(towanda) 160-Hunsinger(towanda)...he beat pepper 170-Frankenfield(wyalusing) 182-clark(waylusing) 195-Daughtrey(wellsboro) 220-Otis or Stettler 285-Worthington(towanda) With these matchups could be a good dual meet

again I was going with SENIORS ONLY! This is how most all star meets at end of season are. With SENIORS ONLY and using the D$ Rankings page I come up with the 2 teams I list.
