I live out of state so I get most of my local wrestling updates on the web. I noticed that the 106lb'r from Warrior Run was having a nice first varsity season - but he didn't wrestle in the duals tournament and he's no longer ranked on the D4 site.
Wondering what happened? Did the other kid (Hornberger) beat him in wrestle-offs?

That is what i was told by a WR coach. A few kids dropped a weight class. I liked watching Hunt wrestle.

To bad to see these 106# who wrestle tough all season get bumped out. Same thing happened to Montgomery's 106#. Wrestled all season at 106# to get bumped for the sectional tournament.

Eric is my step son and he is a little upset but new what he was getting in to going to varsity. He only weighs 97 pounds on good day and hornberger weighed 120 plus the size differents alone made the difference in the match with him. It was close some over time matches and couple 1 point matches. Eric was well aware if he wanted the spot he had to win the spot that is the game and doesnt do any good crying about it and is getting ready for next year and try and be a true 106 pounder. And we wish hornberger the best of luck he earned the spot by beating eric.

Enjoy watching the lower weights. Your son along with the Mifflenburg's #106er were some of our favorite to watch.

That's a great attitude. Looks like Eric has a bright wrestling future.

Yes he does as long as he keeps good attitude and works hard. I cant wait until next season . I will have three on varsity then and all three wrestle hard and will give 100 percent win or lose. And thanks for the complements i will defenetly let eric know. I try to instill in all my boys to work hard and always have a good attitude. And never make excuses. But again thanks for the good feed back. He will be back hard at it next year.

How did he weigh 120 when he wrestled 113 all year even before the 2lbs allowance. No coach lets a wrestle off happen unless a wrestle is within a pound or 2 max, sounds like sour grapes

So naturally the size of the frame and the strenght difference would come in to play. I thought he sounded as though he was fine with it. He said Hornberger won it faIR and square. He even wished him luck. Why does everything on here turn into an argument?

Yes you are right there is no sour grapes hornberger is a realy good wrestler and i think he will go very far and will shock alot of people at sectionals. Hornberger is a real good kid and he deserves. The right to wrestle that weight i was just comenting because i heard people comenting it wasnt fair to eric that he wrestled there all year and now isnt. And i didnt think it eas fair to hornberger who won the spot. And if you lnow the two boys the are good freinds and they alsp read this stuff on here and i wanted to squash the rumors before it caused problems and let people know eric.is fine. But i see there are people that just like to try to cause problems.

And as far as the weight. Every wrestler cuts weight and as far as walk around weight and wrestling weight that is too different things if you look at the two wrestlers you can see the size differents . And if i was hornberger i would of dropped the weight unfortunately. Eric is at lowest weight and had no where he could and ues he had to be down by two pounds and hornberger was and like i said he had every right to wrestle off and win the spot and he did fair and square.
