Now that sectionals and disrticts are full wrestlebacks (kinda waters it down a little) i think its easily regionals particularly the wrestlebacks.Win or go home.

for me its Districts, regionals then sectionals, I'm not a big fan of Sectionals, would like to see the districts go to a full weekend district tourney and drop sectionals

Districts is definitely my favorite. Second I would have to say sectionals because it is the last chance to see everyone on a team compete.

My favorite is Districts, watching all the D4 kids coming together.
I can see some opposition to this, but I wish Sectionals were a little different. I would like to see all kids who have wrestled a minimum amount of varsity matches, say 10, be allowed to compete. Some kids get bumped out due to the incessant dropping that occurs every year (which I don't like). They should be at least allowed an opportunity to compete and advance. I know, there is the chance that one school could have two advance from Sectionals to Districts because of the depth of their weight class, but, if that happened it is because they were two of the best from that Section.
A recent post on this forum regarding a 106 pounder showed how a good wrestler will not even compete because he was bumped. Because of the team's needs, he contributed at 106 all season only not to compete post-season because a good 113 lber dropped at the end. To me, this kid earned the right to compete by wrestling varsity all year. And, just because he lost a wrestle-off to the 113 lber on their team doesn't mean the other 113 lbers in that section can beat him. Therefor, we may not be sending our best wrestlers to Districts.
Just my thoughts.

I agree pop. Maybe that would work if the team distinguished one wrestler at each weight who would gain points for the team. If another wrestler competed ten matches he could wrestle, except his wins or placing would not count toward the team score. I think it is a fair way to do it.

Good idea about the team points, and I agree that it would be fair to do it the way you suggested. The important thing would be that the young man who deserves a chance could compete. I agree pop. Maybe that would work if the team distinguished one wrestler at each weight who would gain points for the team. If another wrestler competed ten matches he could wrestle, except his wins or placing would not count toward the team score. I think it is a fair way to do it.

lbgpop....you have a good idea and it would not be anything that would do any harm. It might add a little more interest to the sport. I don't think that the PIAA would ever allow it .
