There has been a lot of talk about strength in sectionals, and I agree the west is not very deep. However, I believe as a coach I could put together a lineup from the west that would be very hard to beat. As in a match I would move some kids around to get the best matchups for the team. Here is what I might go with: 106 Galentine-Montgomery 113 Killian-Canton 120 Pearson-Montoursvile 126 Gipe-South Williamsport 132 Kramer-Montgomery 138 Batkowski-Montoursville 145 Porter-Milton 152 Preisch-Milton 160 Schnyder-Montgomery 170 English-Milton 182 Wesneski-Canton 195 Route-Canton 220 Smith-Lewisburg 285 Solomon-Milton Depending on matchups some could be switched around and others could be added in such as Ostrowski, Pepper, Goetz, McCracken and etc. Nice to dream a little.

Not a bad line up, but at 182 Ostrowski beat Wesneski when Lewisburg wrestled Canton.

This post has given me a great idea (at least in my mind). Why don’t we try to start a “Fantasy Section” league next year? Each week (Sunday evening) we could pick a team of 14 wrestlers from our sections to “wrestle” for that week and challenge one of the other sections each week. If I took north, 3 other people would have to agree to input a team every Sunday for their respective sections. You could pick any wrestler at the 14 weight classes from your section. Every match each wrestler wrestled that week would be counted toward his total points (Hint: If a team in your section is wrestling 2 duals and a tourney in a week, you might want to pick a stud or 2 from that team).
Schedule: Week 1- North v South, East v West Week 2- North v East, South v West Week 3- North v West, South v East Week 4- See Week 1 Until the end of Week12. That’s mid February if we start in week 2 of the regular season. Starting in week 2 gives us an idea of who is wrestling and at what weight. All scores will be taken from High School Scorebook when input (so don’t expect results for your team until Wednesday of each week.
Scoring: Loss = 0 Dec = 1 MD = 2 TF = 3 Fall = 4 FF = 0 (This will prevent “coaches” from going for the easy points)
If 2 wrestlers on opposing fantasy teams wrestle “head to head” during the week you will earn 3x the points. Example below Loss = 0 Dec = 3 MD = 6 TF = 9 Fall = 12
To get the points listed above your wrestler would have to wrestle the weight class above, at or below the weight you choose for him to wrestle that week (So, putting Smith from Lewisburg at 182 would get you nothing if he won at 220). Just a little idea I have rattling around in my head. What do you all think?

Haha, that is an awesome idea. Following my fantasy players in football every Sunday gives me something extra to do, I think this would allow people to become more familiar with wrestlers across d4.

I just wouldn't want it to put any extra pressure on the kids.

I just wouldn't want it to put any extra pressure on the kids. This is also a very good point as indeed I'm sure the kids do read this forum and would feel pressure to perform.

I think Barnes from Williamson is going 132, and also thought Pearson is at 115

We could e-mail our teams to each other and post the results on here at the end of the week. That way the kids won't know who we picked at the start of any week and they won't be pressured by our choices.
