Pretty sad that there are only 5 kids at 182 and 6 at 195 and a lot of kids sitting in the stands from 126 to 145 because they can't get a spot this year. Any one who looks at these brackets that voted for this change should be ashamed of themselves. The North has always been loaded in the light middle and I see the west is about the same.

Eliminate sectionals. Just a PIAA money maker. End of story. Top 8 from districts top 4 from district 2

I agree, sectionals are almost a waste of time, only 1 weight class out of 14 in the north has all 9 kids, none in the east,

Not only that, but the kids from each section have already established a pecking order within their section because they wrestle each other. Sectionals become redundant for the most part. I'd rather see them do away with Sectionals and replace it with an All Star dual meet between the 4 sections. I think it would be much more interesting.

I agree, sectionals are almost a waste of time, only 1 weight class out of 14 in the north has all 9 kids, none in the east, In the east 138lbs has 9, there is nothing wrong with sectionals it gives some of the marginal wrestlers a chance at a medal they might not have a chance at at districts, in a way it is the first few rounds of districts. By having sectionals it also reduces the time and distance traveled not only for the wrestlers but the families. If they only had districts it would have to be at least a day longer.

They could get the tourney done in 2 days, there are holiday tournaments that have more teams then what we have in districts, and they get done in 2 days, it would have to be a Sat/Sun

I see some teams that have lower weight guys displaced into other weights, whereas, if the weights would have been left alone, 119 thru 145 would've had some more talent throughout. Looking at the upper weight added, IMO, it did not help wrestling in general. The most numbers are in the middle-lower weights.

I think it's going to take a few yrs for the heavywts. to fill in with good quality wrestlers. Like nature taking its course the kids will now lift more and not be so conscientious of their wt. when they are only 9-10th graders trying to get into the varsity lineup. 215 was weak when they initially put it in but it filled out nicely the last 7-10 yrs.

How did I pick on the heavy weights? I was making a point that the decision to remove a weight class from an historically populated range of weights to a less populated weight range was assinine. I would be saying the same if they took away 135 to create a 95lb class. I don't claim to know a better way, but I do know that the numbers showed this to be a stupid idea in PA.

I say we combine 82 and 95 by making the weight classs 190, and then add (give back) another weight class in the range between 132 and 152. This is where the most wrestlers are by the numbers.
