Looks like Mankey and Clark are meeting earlier then what people were hoping for. Should be a fun match.

I have a hard time believing Schrawder and Ostrowski have more points than Clark. Clark has the most wins and went to regionals last year.

It really doesn't matter who has more wins. It does play a part but quality opponents play a part as well.

It doesn't really matter how many wins you have. If you don't wrestle other quality kids you don't get prestige points.

I don't fully understand the seeding points system but it sure looks like "cake" schedules hurt some kids especially Towanda. Ripic being seeded 3rd is an insult !

I think that sometimes losing against a former state champ is better than beating someone who never made districts when it comes to points, and so on...

This is what i found to explain prestige points
Seeding will be based upon 3 separate areas: winning percentage, prestige points,
and competition points.
#1 PERCENTAGE RECORD – Based on total won/loss record (wins divided by the total # of matches wrestled) Must be a 12 bout minimum to get the full total. Subtract 10 points for each match under the 12 bout minimum.
Ex. 17-5 17/22 = .772 Total Points 77
5-9 5/14 = .357 Total Points 36
10-8 10/18 = .555 Total Points 56
9-1 9/10 = .900 Total Points 90 – 20 = 70
#2 PRESTIGE POINTS – Points earned for having previously placed in the district, regional or state tournament. Points are from the previous year ONLY. Wrestler must take the highest place finish points ONLY! Ex. District 1st, Regional 4th - wrestler has 90 pts.
PLACE STATES REGIONALS DISTRICTS
1st 200 pts. 120 pts. 60 pts.
2nd 190 pts. 110 pts. 50 pts.
3rd 180 pts. 100 pts. 40 pts.
4th 170 pts. 90 pts. 30 pts.
5th 160 pts. 80 pts. 20 pts.
6th 150 pts. 70 pts. 10 pts.
7th 140 pts.
8th 130 pts.
#3 COMPETITION POINTS – Points awarded for wrestling last season’s place winners during this year’s dual meet and tournament bouts. Wrestler receives 50% of an opponent’s prestige points for a win & 10% of his prestige points for a loss.
PLACE STATES REGIONALS DISTRICTS SECTIONALS
W / L W / L W / L W / L
1st 100 / 20 60 / 12 30 / 6 10 / 2
2nd 95 / 19 55 / 11 25 / 5 8 / 1
3rd 90 / 18 50 / 10 20 / 4 6 / 1
4th 85 / 17 45 / 9 15 / 3
5th 80 / 16 40 / 8 10 / 2
6th 75 / 15 35 / 7 5 / 1
7th 70 / 14
8th 65 / 13

Sometimes things don't go as planned. win or lose he has to wrestle tough to make it to regionals. Rothermel and ebner have beaten him before, so he will need his A game against what i'm predicting rothermel in his quarter match, and then think about mankey when that time comes.

I agree Clark. You can't get caught looking ahead. Doing that is how you end up losing a close match you could have won or lose to someone that you shouldn't have.
